Creativeness“For me, the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity.”― Henri Cartier-Bresson After reading this quote it reminded me of a new practice that I began a few weeks ago: Art Journaling….let me do a little explaining as it has to do with photography. Sketching, drawing, painting, have never been my forte’. Therefore leading me to the conclusion that I am not creative. For almost a half a century I have thought of myself in that category. It wasn’t until I was approaching that half century mark that I began to think differently. For me it started as I began to notice the outside world very differently: listening, looking and absorbing. At one point I wanted to be able to share what I was seeing with others and that obviously lead me to wanting to capture my view of things with a camera. With that, I began to ask a few of my friends about their photography experience and moved forward with saving up for my first DSLR. After my purchase, with lessons and studying I began snapping pictures of the beauty of creation. What I didn’t realize until I was in the midst of this learning process is that being behind the lens I would find out a photographer is creative in what he or she captures! Along the way I also realized that there is so much more to creativity than I imagined! This week when I was doing some art journaling the conclusion I came to was that even though my forte’ isn’t sketching, drawing or painting my art journal expresses myself…and…if I had to pick, I would say that being behind the lens is one place I am creative capturing for others the beauty in creation. ~Celesa Comments

I find everything you said to be true: we are all creative in something!! Sewing, cooking, decorating, on and on! It takes an dose of maturity to feel safe enough to even try something that intrigues us! I am grateful that you broke through that wall and are capturing beauty in awesome ways!
